I firmly believe that the mustard here is trying to kill people. It's very intense. I actually had tears in my eyes. So if you ever eat English mustard...beware...
On a lighter note, I've been pretty busy since I've been here. We've had classes and are coming up on Midterms next week. We took a tour of the Globe Theater and are going to see King Lear there on Friday. I also stepped into the British Museum. It is huge! I mean the massive amounts of things that they have really isn't put into perspective until you are in there. It just keeps going on and on. My friend and I were only there for about an hour yesterday before it closed and we managed to see the Rosetta Stone and some of the Mummies. I think I'm going to go back for a tour because there is no way to see it all on it's own. So the plan for this week is to see a concert tonight, go to Dickens World tomorrow and go to a ton of museums tomorrow before I go to see King Lear in the evening. My friend and I are going on the London Eye and I think we are going to also try to look at the Tate Modern. I hope to go to the Natural History Museum, the Portrait Gallery and finish the British Museum for sure. :) I think it'll be fun. I definitely thought I would have more time in London but time is definitely running out fast.
So, I almost got locked in Hyde park two nights ago. I went for a walk with my friend Jill. When we started there were a ton of people there running and walking. We saw the Peter Pan statue that JM Barrie gifted to the city and then we walked to the Round Pond that has a ton of Swans in it. When we looked up there was noone left and so we decied to go. The entrance that we had come through was locked and I was sure we were going to have to jump the gate or something. We ended up finding an open gate about 300m past where we were. I guess that story really isn't as exciting as it could have been. Sorry for the letdown.
Anyway, my time in London has been great so far. I absolutly love the Underground and wish Seattle had something like that. Public transport is always great! Well, I should get going. It's finally sunny outside. :) I hope everyone is having a good time at home!
